S.C. home prices up to $182,100

The number of homes sold in South Carolina last month jumped 9.3% to 7,674, and the median price increased 5.1% to $182,100, compared with May 2015. New listings increased 5% to 10,714, and pending sales fell 2.4% to 7,038.

North Charleston’s Public Safety and Housing Committee unanimously agreed Monday afternoon that The Flats at Mixson apartment complex is not up to code. The three-person committee gave the complex’s owner 180 days to bring the buildings into compliance.

In Charleston County, 65 homes were flipped — purchased and resold within a year — during the first quarter, at an average profit of $85,000, according to RealtyTrac. Berkeley County flips profited $62,500; Dorchester County flips grossed $36,900.
