S.C. ports authority approves FY17 plan, $248M for projects

The S.C. State Ports Authority board unanimously approved the highest capital plan in its history when it unanimously passed the fiscal year 2017 financial plan on Wednesday.

S.C. home prices up to $182,100

The number of homes sold in South Carolina last month jumped 9.3% to 7,674, and the median price increased 5.1% to $182,100, compared with May 2015. New listings increased 5% to 10,714, and pending sales fell 2.4% to 7,038.

College of Charleston to increase tuition for 2016-17

The State Ports Authority will implement a new gate system at the Wando Welch Terminal on Saturday. The new system should enable faster turn times and provide more information about the trucks while they are on the terminal.

Cmdr. Brett Pugsley assumed the position of commanding officer of Naval Consolidated Brig Charleston at a changeover ceremony Friday at Joint Base Charleston. The military prison can hold over 270 prisoners.
